How to setup SSAS logging – enable user usage – SSAS query logging – Part I

Today I posted article on problem we solved about SSAS logging, and realized that I can post an article on how to setup the logging in first place.

Using SQL management Studio get connected to SSAS server and navigate to Properties.

There are four properties exposed by Analysis Services we need to update.

Again, to access these properties, start SQL Management Studio and connect to the server that is running Analysis Services. Right-click the Analysis Server node and select Properties.

You will see the Analysis Server Properties dialog box as shown in Figure 1.

Figure 1: The next sections describe the properties that are used to adjust the query log table.
