How to get dead lock error details

  1. Turn onDBCC TRACEON (3605,1204,1222,-1).
  2. Go to SQL server 2012 Management Console => Management => System_health => package event file.
  3. Double click the above file.
  4. Click on Filter and adjust to name = xml_deadlock_report
