How to add parameter to SSRS report based on SSAS cube

In the Report Data pane, right-click on a dataset created from a SQL Server Analysis Services data source type, and then click Query. The MDX query designer opens in Design mode.

We can do it in 2 ways:
1) On the toolbar, click Design to toggle to Query mode.
On the MDX query designer toolbar, click Query Parameters ().
The Query Parameters dialog box opens.
In the Parameter column, click , and then type the name of a parameter.
In the Dimension column, choose a value from the drop-down list.
In the Hierarchy column, choose a value from the drop-down list.
In the Multiple values column, select the check box to create a multivalue parameter.
In the Default column, from the drop-down list, select a single value or multiple values depending on your choice.
Click OK.
On the query designer toolbar, click Run.
2) In Design mode just drag and drop the Dimension you want to filter and use as parameter.
Check the parameter checkbox at the right end.
Click OK.
On the query designer toolbar, click Run.

Now once the dataset is saved you can see the parameters created.

The datasets for the parametres are created as Hidden datasets.
If we right click on Dataset in “Report Data” window pane we can check on “Show Hidden Datasets”.
